ASP.MVC anyone?

ASP.MVC

Couldn't we just use ASP.MVC for ASP.NET MVC?

Seriously, it’s based on .NET Framework but got no WebForms nor Controls of ASP.NET; no ugly PostBack and ViewState either; only nice clean markup and Model-View-Controller pattern. A 21st century hack to 20th century good old ASP technology that’s the way I see it.

So, why don’t we just call it ASP.MVC? I’m already often finding myself typing ASP.MVC and having to change it back to ASP.NET MVC. Does this happen to you too? (Of course, that could be my fat fingers :)

Just think how nicely it fits into the ASP product naming:

  • ASP.OLD
  • ASP.NET
  • ASP.MVC

I mean, regardless what Microsoft Marketing calls it, we could use ASP.MVC as our geeky name for the technology, couldn’t we? :)

What do you all think?
